Transylvania, Romania -  Celebrating Halloween in Dracula's Castle

Double click for full screen slideshow

A plunge into the Gothic heart of Europe, tracing a timeline from "Little Paris" to the brooding, misty peaks of the Carpathian Mountains. You are exploring Transylvania during its most evocative window—Halloween—when the autumn fog clings to the spires and the legends feel undeniably real.

The journey begins in Bucharest, where you will sip cocktails on a rooftop overlooking the brutalist grandeur of the Parliament before diving into the "Old Town" maze to find hidden orthodox monasteries and 19th-century cellar restaurants.

From the capital, you will drive a private route into the mountains, stopping to marvel at the royal opulence of Peleș Castle—a palace that rivals any in Europe for sheer fairytale drama—before settling into the medieval citadel of Brașov. Here, you will walk the city walls at sunset and dine on wild boar in vaulted cellars.

Experience the silent, time-capsule villages of the Saxon north. You will walk the cobbled, rainbow streets of Sighișoara—the actual birthplace of Vlad the Impaler—and explore the authentic, white-washed village of Viscri, before returning to feast on roasted "Bulz" and recovering with a final, sophisticated meal in the heart of the Council Square.

The adventure peaks with an all-night party in Dracula’s Castle (Bran). While others just snap a photo from the road, you will be inside the fortress walls for the "Icon" Halloween event, partying in the shadow of the turrets where the myth of the Vampire was born, surrounded by the very forests that inspired Bram Stoker’s nightmare.
