"A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe."  I not only bring soul, I bring fun into my dinner events.
Despite not having a formal culinary training, I was inspired by my mother, Betty, who still conjures fond childhood memories for many of my friends when they visited our home in Torrance, CA. 

Betty made magic, especially with her casseroles.  Her love that went into our meals stayed with me into my retirement and fuels my passion for unique and fun dining. It is my soul.

After years of entertaining family, friends, and customers on my Johnny G Adventures company, I was given the opportunity to create meals during the Covid Crisis as many friends and neighbors were running out of recipes when the restaurants shut down.  After an abundance of compliments and repeat business, it was suggested by many to explore my passion and share it with locals and guests visiting Lake Tahoe.  Given my nickname, Johnny G, Chef Boyar G was created and I am absolutely blessed to share the legacy of my mother, Betty "Nana Boop" Gómez.  Thank you mom, and to all my friends who have shared their best meals with me.
