Extreme Weekend
2002 was 2 days of physical and mental adventures designed to challenge
each individual's limit. The weekend began with the famous Flume Trail
mountain
bike ride. Climbing 1,100' for 6 miles with no reprieve to gravity.
One
you reach the summit, the ride takes you along beautiful Marlette Lake
which is a great place to appreciate the beers in your back pack. After
a few more miles of very narrow terrain along a 2,000' cliff , you
enter
the Flume Trail and begin a 3 mile 3,000' descent guaranteed to help
you appreciate life and your bicycle brakes. The day was finished in
Zephyr
Cove in our two boats enjoying the sun and scenery.
The next day's
adventure peaked with 6 people jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
and plunging over 100 mph in a free fall towards earth. Although purely
mental for us, it was a physical challenge for our guides as they had
to wrestle Greg Phillips out of the plane.
